Hello everyone, I just wanted to pop in and quickly post something to let everyone know that codes are now available for both MegaMan Starforce 2: ZERKER x NINJA & MegaMan Starforce 2: ZERKER x SAURIAN.

I've now moved on to other games & requests, so I will not be working on anything new for this game any time soon (sorry). I'm currently sorting through 6,000 code request emails while staring at several PS2 & Wii titles that I still haven't touched.

It's time for me to get back to work!

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl - Mystery Zone : Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Mystery Zone - Pokemon Diamond & Pearl

As I mentioned in a previous blog entry, I've been working on "Mystery Codes" for Pokémon Diamond & Pearl... Well, I believe it's time to let the cat out of the bag.

Pokémon Diamond / Pearl fans who own an Action Replay are well aware of the "Walk Anywhere" & "Run Anywhere" codes. What many of them don't realize is that using these codes improperly can cause some serious side effects... the most serious of all is when you save in an area of the game you're not supposed to be in. (I wrote about this issue in my last blog entry.)

Here are some perfect examples of places you DO NOT want to save your game; in the middle of a forrest, in any areay dispalyed as "Mystery Zone", in the black area found inside houses, centers, etc. Saving in these locations may cause your game to "lock" your character in that location when you load the save data.... even with Walk / Run Anywhere it's nearly impossible to escape and progress normally through the game.

Mystery Zone - BAD!Mystery Zone 2 - VERY BAD!

Normally, if you've accidentally saved in one of these areas, or the game auto-saved somewhere you weren't suppsed to be, you'd have to delete your game save and start all over from the beginning. (Which doesn't make many people happy.)

I've been banging my head for a while now trying to come up with a way to fix this problem & allow these accidents to be recovered from.....
"Mystery Zone Save Fix (HOLD SELECT)"

The process can be a bit confusing, but if you follow these instructions carefully, you should be able to recover from the dreaded "Mystery Zone of Death".

STEP 1 – Entering the “Mystery Zone Fix” Code

  1. Insert Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl into the pass-through slot of the Nintendo DS Action Replay.
NOTE: If you do not have a pass-through port on your Action Replay, proceed to #2.
  2. Insert the Action Replay into the game slot.
  3. Turn the Nintendo DS on.
NOTE: If you have a pass-through slot on your Action Replay, proceed to #5.
  4. Replace the Action Replay with either Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl.
  5. Add the following code to your existing Pokémon Diamond or Pearl code list.
  6. You may either manually enter the code, or use the Action Replay Code Manager software.
    AR - Mystery Zone Fix
    CODE REVISED: 08-08-2008:

    D2000000 00000000
    94000130 FFFB0000
    621C5A08 00000000
    B21C5A08 00000000
    000020C8 0000036F
    000020CC 00000070
    000020D4 0000036F
    000020D8 00708000
    D2000000 00000000

STEP 2 – Enabling the “Mystery Zone Fix”

  1. Enable ONLY the “Mystery Zone Fix” tap the on-screen start button.
  2. Load your Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl game save progress.
The moment the save data has loaded, press the X button to access the in game menu.
NOTE: DO NOT press any buttons before pressing X to ensure access the proper in game menu.
Press X to Access Save Menu
  3. Choose “SAVE” from the menu.
  4. When prompted with “Would you like to save the game?”, choose YES.
Would You Like to Save? YES!
  5. A second prompt will now appear; “There is already a saved file. Is it OK to overwrite it?”.
Overwrite? YES! - Now HOLD SELECT
  6. The moment you choose “YES” to the second prompt, PRESS AND HOLD the SELECT button.
    HOLD SELECT WHILE SAVING
NOTE: The screen may look a little strange while you're holding select, but don't worry; this is normal.
  7. Continue to hold the SELECT button down while the game progress is being saved.
  8. Once the game has confirmed that the save was successful, power off the Nintendo DS.

STEP 3 – Verifying & Completing Fix

  1. With the power OFF, and no Action Replay is connected to your Nintendo DS, insert your game cartridge.
  2. Power ON the Nintendo DS.
  3. Load the existing game save data.
Load Fixed Data - Looks Funny... Almost Done!
NOTE: The graphics may look strange at this point, but again, don't worry.... this is normal.
  4. Enter any one of the nearby houses.
Enter a House to fix the graphics.
  5. Exit the house.
TA DAAA! - FIXED. (Now Save.)
    Ta-Daaa....... Fixed!
  6. Open the in game menu by pressing X
  7. Save your game data one final time and you're done..

NOTE: Since each game save is unique, it is impossible for our code staff to accurately recreate every instance / problem that may occur when saving in a “Mystery Zone”, this code is not guaranteed to work in every situation. If this does not fix your problem, or you’re unable to access the in game menu to save your game progress, it may be necessary to send your game cartridge in to us so that our code creators may look at your specific problem..  Click here for more info.

Hopefully you found this useful & it solved any problems you were experiencing. Please leave a comment and let me know if it worked for you.

See you next time,
- Jay "FNG"

P.S.
I picked up copies of both MegaMan Starforce 2 ZERKER X NINJA & MegaMan Starforce 2 ZERKER X SAURIAN yesterday, so expect to see codes soon.

As promised, the following requested games have been updated:

Action Replay DS Tip: INFO Button : Wednesday, July 23, 2008

blog_AR.jpg

Today I had a brief conversation with the folks in our customer service department and they brought something to my attention; most poeple seem to overlook the INFO button on their Nintendo DS Action Replay. Since it's an extremely useful part of the Action Replay DS, I thought I'd pass on a useful tip and hopefully it will help a few of you get the most out of your AR DS.

Hopefully, after reading this, you'll have a better understanding of what the INFO button is, how to use it, and why it's so important.

i.png

INFO button; quick explanation:
If a particular code or group of codes has some information associated with them you will see the INFO button appear. Tap it with your stylus to display the associated notes; tap it again to clear them.

INFO button; detailed explanation:
As you're scrolling through the codes for a specific title on the Action Replay DS, the following will be displayed on the touch screen:

No

As you continue to scroll through the code list you may notice an icon appear between the up arrow and the code edit icon. (The "code edit icon" is the one that looks like a pencil).

If the INFO button appears when a code or code folder is highlighed, tap it and an info window will appear in the top screen of the Nintendo DS. The info displayed here is usually quite important and contains instructions or warnings you should be aware of before using the code(s).

For example, if you were to play Animal Crossing: Wild World and you wanted to use the "ABLE SISTERS PATTERN EDIT MOD:" codes, you should be aware that the code will not activate until you press the L Button, R Button, and Down on the D-Pad. Also, the effects of the code aren't visible until the patteren has been saved. If you highlight the "ABLE SISTERS PATTERN EDIT MOD:" code folder and tap the INFO button that appears, you'll see the following message display in the top screen of the Nintendo DS.

"Edit a patteren at the Able Sisters, press L+R+DOWN, then save."

INFO Button Not Tapped:
Code info not displayed

INFO Button Tapped:
Code info is displayed

ARDS Animal Crossing WW Codes

ARDS Animal Crossing Wild World Codes

The INFO button can also provide you with extremely important information about the possible side effects of using a particular code. A perfect example of an Action Replay code containing extremely useful information would have to be the "GO ANYWHERE - THROUGH ANYTHING:" codes for Pokemon Diamond & Pearl.

If you highlight the code folder and tap the INFO button, you'll see the following warning:

WARNING: Use at your own risk. Do NOT save in black areas or Mystery Zones.

If you highlight the "Walk Anywhere" code within code folder and tap the INFO button, you'll see another warning.

If you were to save your game while wandering around in an area labeled "Mystery Zone" or wander into the black area while inside a house and your game were to save, you may become permanantly stuck in that location the next time you load your game save.... in more extreme cases your game save may become corrupted and automatically delete itself the next time you try to play.

Well, that's about all there is to the INFO button. I hope you found this "tip" helpful; thanks for taking the time to read through it.

Mystery Code : Friday, July 18, 2008

blog_AR.jpg

Hello everyone, I just wanted to make a quick post to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about you; I've just been extremely busy.

Something thing that has occupied quite a bit of my time is a "Mystery Code" for two of the most popular Nintendo DS titles; Pokemon Diamond & Pokemon Pearl. I haven't told anyone that I've been working on it because I wasn't sure that it could be done.... To be honest, I was extremely concerned about getting everyone's hopes up, only to find that the code would never work properly.

Well, I believe I've finally got everything figured out, and I'll begin testing it in various situations throughout the game this weekend. If all goes well I willll be revealing the code soon; keep your eye on us.codejunkies.com/blog for more info.
