Our special TOOL version of the PSP rechargeable battery works in exactly the same way as a standard Sony PSP battery, but has the ability to put your PSP into Service Mode. This is a facility made available exclusivey to programmers and developers, allowing them to run software from a memory stick instead of the UMD - a vital means of testing the game you're developing on the PSP without having to get Sony to cut a disc for you.

With our bright red TOOL battery, you can access this Service Mode on your own, non-developers' PSP! Using the TOOL battery, you can run PSP software from your memory stick, by putting your PSP into Service Mode. It's easy!

Top notch product, does exactly what it says on the tin! But I would not buy off this site again as they take too long to deliver, they say they have it in stock when they dont!You just need the right software on your pro duo card and away you go! CODEJUNKIES REPLY: We did get caught out with a high volume of orders and this did mean a slight delay which we're sorry about. No money was taken until the batteries shipped and as the manufacturer, we were still the quickest place to get them from.

I just wanted to know, what exactly is service mode? Will it just "downgrade" my PSP? and what if in some way it messes up my PSP, will it void my PSP warranty? Thanks.

Codejunkies Reply: Service Mode simply allows you to choose your firmware, it's functionality already built into the PSP, this battery just allows you to access it. Any time you want to change your firmware or reset you PSP, you can.

well, i bought a tool battery from console shop and they scamed me. Do i have to be worried about being scamed here?

I wanted to buy this but I think it might ruin my psp

Codejunkies Reply: The TOOL battery only facilitates the use of Service Mode (which is built into your PSP) to enable you to change the firmware (upgrades, downgrades etc.). There is no reason to worry about damaging your PSP.

Why doesn't it come with the files on for the memory stick?
