Dont listen to people going on about how its just "a wired controller, wireless is the whole point"..... just see this for what it is... Picture this, and its happened to me, which convinced me to buy it, your in the middle of an online match on rainbow six, you spot an enemy and spring into action, pull the right trigger, your certain to pop the guy in the head, "please reconnect your controller".....and bang, your dead.... you try as hard as you can.. but nope... the controllers dead... so you have to swan off to get some batterys and get killed about 4 million times and just cant get back into it.... with this, you check your battery life... if its about to die.... then plug it in.. when its charged pull it out.... so its wired for about an hour tops.... so its not defying the point of having a wireless controller.... its defying the point of spening money of batterys.... how expensive are batterys by the way... scandalous!!! It makes sense to buy it ...

First off all people need to realise that everyone has their own opinion. So I wish people would stop trying to force theirs on the general public but anyway on with the review. I personally think this piece of kit is a necessity for any gamer that plays for long periods of time, and also online. Just imagine your there playing Gears online with you quick charge battery pack or normall AA's and your about to pull of a wicked head shot with the sniper: "please reconnect controller" ....great, the opportunity is gone. You will then have to spend the next 5 mins looking for some new batteries OR wait a couple of hours for the recharge. With the Play and Charge this is not a problem, simply plug it in and carry on your gaming. I've seen a lot of reviews complain that you HAVE to be playing a game for the controller to recharge... err not true, i think they are mis understanding the product's name. play and charge means you CAN do both at the same time not you HAVE to. If you don't want to leave your console on while it recharges, you can plug the controller in with the xbox on, then turn off the console. The machine will go into a special stand-by mode where the controller carries on charging but the console is off. When the power pack is fully charge the console turns itself completely off. Job done.

Ok, it's good for the fact it charges your controller whilst you play, but as its plugged in, it takes 6 hours to charge, the quick charge takes 2. Also as the person before me said, it defeats the point of wireless. Also really if you must continously play your console for it to charge, its pointless. Whats wrong with stopping, putting it in the quick charge kit for 2 hours then go back on. It encourages breaks, this just gives you an excuse to play more games, and then you will have to go to that clinic centre for addicted gamers Was this review helpful to you?
