No. Registration is completely free . Why do I need to register? For your safety and convenience. By being registered for our discussion forums it allows us to disallow problem users from disrupting everyone else. Registering also enables us to notify you of code, product and web site updates (if you so wish). Do I have to receive e-mails from you? No, you are free to subscribe or unsubscribe to our Code Alert e-mails at any time. The choice is entirely yours. Will my details be passed on to any other organization? No, definitely not. We've been in this business for over 20 years and we have never passed on our customers' details to any other organization. We are 100% against “spam” and believe in protecting our customers' interests, not exploiting them. Why do you need my e-mail address? We only need your e-mail address so we can verify that you are who you say you are, and hold people to some kind of accountability should they choose to post messages on our discussion forums. If you wish to receive Code Alerts then we also need to know your e-mail address. Can other users view my e-mail address? No, regular users will never see your e-mail address or your real name. Only Datel-appointed administrators and moderators can view your details should they need to check your activities on the discussion forums. Why can't I post on the forums with an e-mail address like Yahoo, Hotmail, etc? Experience shows us that people who “spam” our discussion forums (post unwanted or offensive messages) tend to pick “free” e-mail domains because they believe it makes them untraceable and free from responsibility. In fact, we often contact these domain owners so that they can take action against the individuals responsible. If I register with a free e-mail address can I still view codes? Yes. But if you want to be able to post a message in our forums then you'll need to use the e-mail address supplied to you by your ISP (internet service provider). If a user is banned from the forums, can they still view codes? Yes, you can still view all other web site content. You just won't be able to post any messages in our forums.
