It`s been rumoured that Phantasy Star Online 1 & 2 (Japanese versions) has something like a hardware-scan inside and is impossible to play it whithout the orginal Japanese GameCube. In actual fact it works fine in offline mode. We haven`t tested it in online mode, but it should be fine with the correct net connection.
